The Importance of Coconut Soy Wax: A Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Alternative

Our Mission

At NALADAK Candles, we believe that true quality comes from simplicity. Our journey started with the goal of creating candles that not only smell incredible but are made with the highest quality ingredients and the fewest possible additives. We wanted to offer a product that was pure and luxurious—without compromising on performance.

Our candles are handcrafted using a premium wax blend, carefully chosen to provide the best performance and a smooth, even burn.

Wax Education

Coconut soy wax candles and paraffin candles each offer distinct qualities, and understanding their differences can help you choose the best option for your needs.

Coconut Soy Wax Candles:
Coconut soy wax is a natural blend of coconut and soy waxes, known for its eco-friendly and clean-burning properties. These candles burn slower, giving you a longer-lasting experience. The wax has a smooth, creamy texture and is perfect for those who prioritize sustainability. Coconut soy wax also tends to hold and release fragrance more evenly, creating a subtle yet consistent scent throw. Additionally, it’s biodegradable and free from harmful chemicals, making it a safer choice for both your health and the environment.

Paraffin Wax Candles:

Paraffin wax, a byproduct of petroleum refining, is widely used in the candle industry. It excels at capturing and releasing fragrance, often resulting in a stronger scent throw. While less refined paraffin candles can potentially be toxic, all NALADAK candles containing paraffin are carefully purified and refined, ensuring they are no more toxic than soy candles when burned. Recent studies have shown that well-made candles from all major wax types—paraffin, soy, stearin, and beeswax—burn cleanly and pose no significant risks to human health or indoor air quality.

Sky
  • Source: Coconut soy wax is a natural, renewable blend of plant-based waxes, while paraffin is a petroleum byproduct.

  • Environmental Impact: Coconut soy wax is biodegradable and considered more eco-friendly, while paraffin has a higher environmental cost due to its petroleum origins & purification process.

  • Scent Throw: Paraffin wax tends to provide a stronger, more intense fragrance, whereas coconut soy wax offers a more subtle, evenly distributed scent.

  • Burn Time: Coconut soy wax typically burns slower and cooler, extending the life of the candle, while paraffin burns faster, providing a quicker, more efficient burn.

  • Health Considerations: Coconut soy wax is free from harmful chemicals and burns very cleanly. At times, paraffin candles can release small amounts of soot, especially if they contain added dyes or fragrances. This is typically due to the way paraffin wax reacts to the size or material of a wick in the candle.
